Alexey Akulov is a Principal E&S Professional with the New Development Bank (NDB) based in Shanghai, China. He has 17+ years of practical experience in environmental and social (E&S) due diligence, auditing and monitoring, E&S impact and risk assessment and management, IFIs’ E&S safeguards, E&S management systems for financial institutions and industrial companies. Before joining NDB, Alexey worked as the Head of Sustainability on a major LNG development project in the Arctic where he was responsible for implementing the international lenders’ E&S requirements in line with the Equator Principles, the Head of Responsible Finance and Safeguards at a national development bank, and an Environmental Consultant with a global environmental and sustainability consultancy.
