Brendan is an ESG consultant with over 20 years of experience. He leads Infrata's ESG advisory services for the EMEA and North America regions, providing high quality and pragmatic advice to investors and lenders.

Prior to joining Infrata, he led Arup's ESG transaction due diligence services. Working at the forefront of this field, his team won the IJ Global ESG Technical Advisor of the Year award in 2021 and 2022.

Brendan works with both equity investors and financial institutions and advises on both brownfield and greenfield projects across infrastructure sectors. He works to client-specific briefs and also to international environmental and social standards, including the Equator Principles and the IFC Performance Standards.

In addition to transactions, he works with clients to develop ESG strategies and reporting. This increasingly involves helping clients to navigate the myriad of regulation and standards emerging in this field, from the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and the EU Taxonomy to the recommendations of the Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

A recent focus of his work has been developing transformation plans for his clients as they take ownership of new assets. These are focussed on effectively managing ESG risks and opportunities, adding value to the assets, and bringing management of these issues up to the high standards many clients are now expecting.

He has worked extensively in the energy, utilities, transport, digital and real estate sectors on projects in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.

He is a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and a Chartered Environmentalist.
