Mr. Saranga Gajasinghe having a Master of philosophy degree in integrated water resources management and a diploma in environmental journalism, is presently attached to the South Asia regional department of the Asian Development Bank. Working as a senior safeguards specialist at Sri Lanka Resident Mission he is the focal for environmental, social safeguards and climate change thematic areas in projects implemented in Sri Lanka. During a carrier spanning over two decades, he has held positions of team leader, environmental and resettlement specialist in major development projects. He has experience in supporting projects through the entire project cycle. Under his present assignment with ADB he has been providing guidance to financial intermediaries to strengthen their capacity in implementing safeguards requirement, especially in space of small and medium entrepreneur line of credit project. Mr. Gajasinghe is a Charter Member of the Institute of Environmental Professionals Sri Lanka, a Life Member of Highway Engineer’s Association Sri Lanka and a member of the Agricultural Engineering Society Sri Lanka (AESSL).
