Satoshi Ishihara has over 20 years of experiences in social safeguards of large infrastructure projects including hydropower development, highway constructions and urban development. He has extensive experiences in informal land acquisition and recently published case studies on unregistered and customary land acquisition. His has worked in East Asia, Central Asia, Eastern Europe and Eastern Africa. He is based in Indonesia. His current work includes strengthening corporate ESMSs of Financial Intermediaries (FI) and energy companies as part of their ESG strategies; ESG strategy development for the Ministry of Finance; and development of technical guidelines for social risk assessment and FPIC.
