Project Description

The MCDF grant will help support the implementation of a joint three-year program between the ASEAN Secretariat, AIIB, and MCDF that will enhance the capacity of ASEAN Member States to prepare bankable cross-border connectivity infrastructure projects through technical advice and training. This is in conjunction with the updating of the Initial Rolling Priority Pipeline of ASEAN Infrastructure Projects under the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025.. It will also provide dedicated upstream technical assistance for the development of high-quality project concepts focusing on cross-border connectivity projects, in line with IFI standards and AIIB’s thematic priorities.

Alignment with MCDF Core Values

The MCDF grant will support ASEAN member states to build capacity to develop and implement high-quality cross border connectivity projects. The project also aligns with MCDF’s objectives of promoting partnerships given that the MCDF grant could be used to originate connectivity projects initiated or invested by the private sector.
