Project Description

The MCDF grant will support detailed due diligence on a planned submarine cable linking El Salvador to Panama and the region. The underlying investment will ensure high-speed digital connectivity in El Salvador and beyond.

The activities to be financed by the grant will include updating and validating technical, legal, financial, and environmental safeguards studies for the construction of the submarine cable.

Alignment with MCDF Core Values

The underlying investment will improve digital connectivity in El Salvador and the region by facilitating development of the submarine cable. The MCDF grant will support due diligence to ensure the underlying project complies with International Financial Institution standards.
