MCDF publishes its first Annual Report

MCDF releases its 2021 Annual Report, including the Audited Financial Statements.     

On 20 April 2022, the MCDF Governing Committee approved the MCDF 2021 Annual Report and Audited Financial Statements which recount the first year of its operations.

In 2021, MCDF established a solid foundation to deliver impact and results by building its operational policies based on quality standards and best practice, establishing a diverse and dedicated international team, launching its Collaboration Platform and welcoming its first two Implementing Partners, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).

MCDF approved its first three projects totaling USD1.916 million to support capacity development and strengthen institutional environmental and social frameworks and management systems, leading to potential investments of USD300 million.

Zhongjing Wang, CEO of MCDF emphasized, “the needs of developing countries for high quality and sustainable connectivity infrastructure have been amplified by the interconnected challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the climate crisis. MCDF is strongly positioned to deliver on its mandate of fostering high-quality infrastructure and connectivity investments of the highest standards in developing countries through partnerships, and advocating for a transparent, friendly, nondiscriminatory and predictable financing environment.”
