Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF) CEO Wang Zhongjing hosted a bilateral meeting with Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) President Dr. Hyginus ‘Gene’ Leon at the MCDF Secretariat in Beijing on 24 August.

CEO Wang and President Leon discussed possible areas of collaboration between MCDF and CDB.

CEO Wang described MCDF’s efforts to promote sustainable cross-border connectivity infrastructure in developing countries through partnerships with governments and International Financial Institutions (IFIs), with an increasing focus on Latin American and the Caribbean.

He expressed MCDF’s interest in working with CDB to advance cross-border connectivity infrastructure financing and growth in the region.

President Leon underscored CDB’s commitment to boosting the Caribbean’s resilient and sustainable development. He noted the importance of logistical, digital, and cultural connectivity to the region’s resilience ecosystem.

President Leon pointed out that CDB and MCDF share many areas of common interest, including connectivity promotion via partnerships. He encouraged both sides to explore opportunities for collaboration.
