Gulru Azamova is a Senior Social Development Specialist at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). She is responsible for integration of social development dimensions with specific focus on social inclusion and gender mainstreaming into the operational work of AIIB. She has contributed to the development of the Analytical Note on Gender Considerations in the AIIB’s ESF, Approach Note on Mainstreaming Gender in AIIB Operations, Gender-Focused Investments Review in Energy Sector Projects, and Corporate Gender Action Plan. Prior to joining AIIB, she served in a similar capacity at the World Bank in ECA region and helped task teams to enhance social opportunities and mitigate social risks associated with development projects and programs in Central Asia. She holds a Law Degree and has completed postgraduate studies on Public Policy and Public Administration at the University of North Carolina and Non-Profit Management at Duke University in North Carolina, USA.
