Experience

Piers Touzel is the Head of ESG Advisory for ERM’s Greater China operations.  He has worked with the environmental and social safeguard policies of Multilateral Development Banks for over 20 years and has experience in their practical application in Asia, Eastern Europe, South America and Africa. This includes work with major financial institutions including AIIB, the World Bank/IFC, ADB, EBRD and Equator Principles Financial Institutions.  

On the Lender’s side, Piers has acted as an independent environmental and social consultant for over 100 projects across virtually all industrial sectors, including for large-scale linear infrastructure projects, including trans-national pipelines, railways, roads and power transmission projects.  On behalf of borrowers, Piers has led the preparation of over 50 Environmental and Social Impact Assessments and Resettlement Plans for projects across a range of industries including road, rail and airports
