Roman Novozhilov is the Head of ESG Division at the New Development Bank. He has over 20 years of global experience in environmental, social, and governance matters. He joined the Shanghai-based NDB in 2017 to start its ESG Division and is responsible for integrating ESG aspects in NDB’s credit and equity products and for delivering ESG advisory services to NDB’s clients. Before joining NDB, he worked for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington, D.C., Johannesburg and Hong Kong, focusing on managing the ESG risks of IFC’s investments. Before that, he held various roles in sustainability policy research at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. Mr. Novozhilov holds a Ph.D. from American University (Washington D.C.) and an M.A. from Lancaster University (UK). He is a Chartered Alternative Assets Analyst (CAIA) and Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA).
