Maya is a Professional Civil Engineer, 2 master’s degrees in environmental engineering, science and Technology and a PhD in Environmental Science. She has decades of experience wearing different hats, working with multilateral development banks, financial intermediaries, private sector, national and local governments. Her expertise covers the various fields of sustainability (environmental management, biodiversity, ecosystem services, green infrastructures, governance, etc. Her role includes the review, monitoring and quality assurance of environment and social safeguards’ instruments for risk management and impact assessment during the preparation, design and implementation of development plans, projects and programs.
