The MCDF grant will support the preparation of the China-ASEAN Sea-Rail Multimodal Logistics Project. The project aims to promote connectivity and trade through the development of a green and smart multimodal logistics park in Qinzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.
The activities to be financed by the grant will include strengthening the logistics park’s demand and economic analysis to further identify the underlying investment’s impact on regional development and cross-border connectivity. They will also elaborate the logistics park’s decarbonization and climate risk assessment to reduce its carbon footprint and increase its resilience, as well as shape the planning and engineering for realizing a green and smart logistics park design.
The underlying investment will play a pivotal role in maximizing Qinzhou’s economic potential as a sea-rail multimodal logistics regional center as well as promoting regional connectivity and trade. The MCDF grant will facilitate collaboration among the recipient, local governments, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in undertaking high-quality project preparation in the context of AIIB’s proposed investment.
