Project Description

The MCDF grant will support the preparation of the Galápagos Logistics Infrastructure and Sustainability Investment Project. The investment project will help upgrade logistics infrastructure while enhancing biosecurity in an ecologically fragile UNESCO World Heritage Area.

The grant will finance due diligence covering technical, financial, economic, environmental, social, biodiversity, and biosecurity matters, as well as legal, institutional, and project implementation arrangements. The project preparation activities will also include transaction advisory services for structuring and placement of a shipping concession.

Alignment with MCDF Core Values

The underlying investment will contribute to modern logistics infrastructure and effective protection and conservation of marine reserves in the Galápagos Islands and beyond.
