Lead Procurement Specialist, The World Bank
Experience

Yash Gupta is the Lead Procurement Specialist and Procurement Hub Coordinator in the Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA) at The World Bank. He is based in Washington DC.

Yash is an Indian national and brings with him 40 years of experience in Public Procurement. Yash joined the World Bank in 2008 and worked in East Asia, Africa, and South Asia before moving to MENA region in 2018. He has been supporting the client countries in fiduciary risk management, improving procurement regulatory and institutional framework, digitization of procurement function, green procurement, procurement professionalization and capacity budling. Prior to joining The World Bank, Yash worked for over 24 years in Procurement and Contracts Divisions with public sector in India, which included 20 years with India’s largest power utility, NTPC. Yash holds master’s degree in economics and bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.
