Being in the E&S business for almost three decades, Ashfaq Khokhar has in-depth knowledge of E&S policies, standards and procedures and on-the-ground experience of planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of infrastructure projects, across development sectors, that involve E&S impacts and risks and require systematic approach manage ESIA, stakeholders’ engagement, land acquisition and displacement of project affected communities and their resettlement, compensation and livelihood restoration. He has in-depth operational knowledge of E&S policies and procedures and how to put them into practice.
Mr. Khokhar is a Pakistan national and has a master’s degree in development economics and extensive international training and qualifications in E&S policies and procedures. He has been with ADB since 2007. Prior to this, he was involved in planning/implementation of safeguard instruments including ESF, ESS, RAP/RP, E&S compliance audits and due diligence and ensuring safeguards compliance in sovereign and non-sovereign operations through monitoring and supervision.
