Mr Satoshi Ishihara has over 20 years of experiences in social safeguards of transport projects of different types, from highways through secondary and local roads. He has extensive knowledge on informal land acquisition, customary tenure rights, and recently published case studies on unregistered and customary land acquisition, and FPIC guidelines for Indonesia including scenario analysis for different sectors including roads and railways. His has worked in East Asia, Central Asia, Eastern Europe and Eastern Africa. His current work includes assistance to the Indonesian Government to issue a regulatory Social Impact Assessment (SIA) guideline including appendixes on physical relocation and livelihood restoration.
