Ms. Yuan ZHENG works as a Climate Specialist at the Strategy, Policies and Partnerships Department of the New Development Bank (NDB). She leads the climate workstream at NDB, including the development of the Bank’s strategic approach on just transition, climate finance tracking and reporting, as well as Paris Alignment assessment. She represents NDB at varied discussion forums, including diverse joint MDB working groups related to climate change, the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group and the United Nations Climate Change Conferences etc.

Prior to joining NDB, she worked as an Economist at United Nations Development Program (UNDP), China. Yuan holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics from University of Copenhagen. She gained a Joint-Double MSc. in Sustainable Forest and Natural Resource Management from University of Copenhagen and University of Gottingen.
