Jit Bhattacharya
Co-Founder and CEO, BasiGO
Experience

Jit Bhattacharya is the Co-Founder and CEO of BasiGo, a company headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, working to electrify Africa's public transport system. Jit has been a leader in electric vehicle and lithium-ion battery technology for the past 18 years. He served as CEO of Mission Motors, a Silicon Valley company specializing in high-performance EV technology. He later served as a senior manager in the Special Projects Group at Apple.

After moving to East Africa in 2017, Jit served as Chief Technology Officer for Fenix International, one of Africa's leading Pay-As-You-Go solar home system companies. Prior to launching BasiGo, Mr. Bhattacharya served as a Principal with Factor[e] Ventures, one of the first venture capital funds to invest in e-mobility in Africa.

Mr. Bhattacharya holds a Master’s in Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
