Dr. Paolo Craviolatti, a member of World Association of PPP Units and Professionals (WAPPP), is a Transaction Adviser at DAR (www.dar.com), working on infrastructure financing assignments for DAR clients (mainly governments) in Africa. Dr. Craviolatti has 30 years of working experience in the field of development finance, private sector development, and investment in the economic and social sectors, of which 16 years have been specifically in infrastructure financing and PPPs. He has worked in over 20 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and Central, South, and Southeast Asia.
He has served as an economist in the EU, as an official of the UK Department for International Development, and for various government administrations in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has worked in financial structuring in key economic sectors, including transport/mobility, industrial and property development, municipal services, and renewable energy, supporting investment decisions and promoting private sector participation in projects. His focus is on innovative financing models, including hybrid PPPs, EPC+F, and blended finance models.
Dr. Craviolatti holds a PhD in Economics from Sussex University (UK), a Master’s in Economics from Oxford University (UK), and a BSc (Hons) in Agricultural Economics from Reading University (UK).
