DESCRIPTION
Co-organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Xiamen National Accounting Institute (XNAI), Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF), and China International Contractors Association (CHINCA), the forum aims to deepen understanding of multilateral development bank (MDB) integrity requirements and the MDB Harmonized Guidelines on Business Integrity Programs and strengthen capacity on integrity and compliance among contractors and other stakeholders in the region.
AUDIENCE
- Senior management and legal and compliance professionals from companies in the Asia-Pacific who participate in, or are interested in participating in, MDB-financed projects
- Government officials and international institution representatives involved in the development, promotion, and dissemination of anticorruption and integrity compliance standards for infrastructure projects
- Scholars and other experts
FORMAT
The forum is a three-day hybrid event, to be held in Xiamen, China and online via Zoom. It will consist of the following:
- High-Level Forum on Asia-Pacific Integrity and Compliance (16 September): Speeches and panel discussions featuring governments, MDBs, businesses, and academics from the Asia-Pacific and beyond and highlighting key anticorruption and integrity trends and experiences.
- Capacity Building Workshops on Integrity and Compliance in Procurement and Special Business Opportunities Fair (17-18 September): Panel sessions focused on key principles and analytical frameworks, and workshops that spotlight common integrity-related MDB procurement pitfalls, errors, and solutions.
- Bilateral meeting service: a 20-minute bilateral meeting with participating MDBs with interpretation service available on request.
Speaker presentations will be in English and Chinese, with simultaneous translation provided in both languages. All presentation slides will be in English. Presentations and related knowledge products will be uploaded on MCDF’s website and JIGSAW platform.
In addition to the bilateral meeting service, participants will engage with each other through small group discussions and question-and-answer sessions at the end of each panel discussion.
