The MCDF Secretariat led by CEO Zhongjing Wang met a wide range of partners during their recent visit to Washington, D.C. They included representatives of Cambodia, the Philippines and Lao PDR, which are members of MCDF’s seven-country Governing Committee; CAF (Development Bank of Latin America And The Caribbean), which is a member of MCDF’s Coordination Committee; the World Resources Institute; members of the World Bank’s Executive Board as well as a number of World Bank senior staff. A meeting with World Bank Managing Director of General Operations Axel van Trotsenburg focused on ongoing collaboration on knowledge sharing activities between MCDF and the World Bank.
The MCDF Secretariat team provided updates of MCDF activities and scoped how MCDF can deepen collaboration with its multilateral network of partners to meet the needs of developing countries to develop high-quality and sustainable connectivity infrastructure. The briefing sessions were held on the sideline of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group – an occasion which brings together many global development practitioners.
