MCDF provides grants and technical assistance to developing countries and partners to foster sustainable cross-border connectivity infrastructure growth. Through information-sharing, capacity building, and the preparation of connectivity infrastructure projects, MCDF promotes the application of International Financial Institution (IFI) standards across critical policy areas, such as debt sustainability, environmental and social standards, non-fossil fuel and clean energy investments, anti-corruption and fraud, procurement, transparency, and information disclosure.
MCDF grants must be requested by, and channeled through, Implementing Partners, which are IFIs accredited by MCDF. These Implementing Partners are expected to work closely with New Partners, including other financial entities that generally do not yet apply IFI standards. MCDF’s activities are developed by, and implemented through, its Collaboration Platform and Finance Facility.
