Project Description

The MCDF grant will support the application of international climate and environmental and social (E&S) standards in the planned Bishoftu International Airport (BIA) project. It will facilitate green investment planning and climate finance access by prioritizing green and climate-resilient investments, refining emissions-reduction analysis, and supporting the technical and financial case for mobilizing climate and concessional finance.

The grant will also support BIA’s decarbonization pathway, Carbon Management Plan, integration of climate-risk measures, and knowledge sharing and coordination among key project stakeholders.

MCDF’s grant will support regional and international connectivity, high international climate and E&S standards, and partnerships, while strengthening the technical and financial basis for accessing climate and concessional finance.
