Bara Alaya joined the Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF) as Senior Investment Specialist in March 2026. He focuses on origination and project structuring, working with partners to identify and implement targeted interventions across the project cycle to address bankability constraints and advance projects toward financial close.
Bara brings over a decade of experience at the African Development Bank Group, where he worked on structuring and financing complex projects across Africa. His experience includes managing multi-layered transactions involving diverse stakeholders, financing structures, and implementation frameworks. More broadly, he has over 20 years of exposure to investment and transaction environments across both buy- and sell-side contexts, shaping a pragmatic and execution-focused approach to project development.
Bara’s work is grounded on a strong interest in how investment decisions interact with broader economic systems, with a focus on practical solutions that unlock projects and support real-economy impact. He holds a bachelor’s degree and a PhD in quantitative finance from IHEC, University of Carthage (Tunisia) and a master’s degree in finance from George Washington University (United States).
