Experience

Mark is a Chartered Environmentalist and certified lead environmental auditor with over sixteen years’ experience. His first project as an environmental consultant was supporting the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the Scottish Transport Strategy in 2008, and he has subsequently worked on numerous transport projects in the UK and globally. His experience has included road, rail and associated bridge projects in countries including the UK, Sweden, Italy, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia and Tanzania with roles in SEA, pre-feasibility optioneering, environmental and social due diligence (ESDD), Lenders Technical Advisory (LTA) for concession tendering, and Lenders / Independent Environmental and Social Consultant (LESC / IESC) project implementation monitoring.  He joined the AIIB in early 2024 following more than 15 years in environmental and social consultancy and is presently a member of the AIIBs Environmental and Social Team.
