SUMMARY

MCDF Connectivity Infrastructure Report Series

The MCDF Connectivity Infrastructure Report Series shares practical insights on cross-border connectivity infrastructure projects financed by International Financial Institutions (IFIs). Reports in the series cover cross-border transport, energy, and digital infrastructure projects – both hard and soft – undertaken by IFIs from 2010 to 2024. They outline approaches used to develop and finance these complex and challenging projects and future priorities.

Bridging Central and West Asia and the World

Bridging Central and West Asia and the World highlights IFI-financed cross-border connectivity infrastructure projects in 10 countries across Central Asia and the South Caucasus. They include Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. These countries are in many ways diverse but increasingly united by the need to enhance regional connectivity to achieve greater sustainable growth and development.
