SUMMARY

MCDF Connectivity Infrastructure Report Series

The MCDF Connectivity Infrastructure Report Series shares practical insights on cross-border connectivity infrastructure projects financed by International Financial Institutions (IFIs). Reports in the series cover cross-border transport, energy, and digital infrastructure projects – both hard and soft – undertaken by IFIs from 2010 to 2024. They outline approaches used to develop and finance these complex and challenging projects and future priorities.

Catalyzing Connectivity in Southeast Asia

Catalyzing Connectivity in Southeast Asia spotlights IFI-financed cross-border connectivity infrastructure projects in the 10 countries that comprise the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). They include Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam. These countries are marked by geographic diversity, open economies, environmental vulnerability, and strong political will for regional integration.
