Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF) CEO Zhongjing Wang and staff met senior representatives of International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and government officials while attending the Africa Investment Forum (AIF) Market Days 2024 in Rabat, Morocco, from 3-6 December, and discussed support for connectivity projects in Africa.
The MCDF delegation held bilateral meetings with senior management from the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, cohost of the networking platform for investment project stakeholders and both an MCDF Implementing Partner (IP) and MCDF Coordination Committee (CC) member.
The participants included Ms. Marie Laure Akin-Olugbade, Senior Vice President; Ms. Hassatou N'Sele, Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer; Mr. Solomon Quaynor, Vice President for Private Sector, Infrastructure, and Industrialization; Mr. Gauthier Bourlard, Senior Director and Special Advisor to the President; and Mr. Max Magor Ndiaye, Senior Director of Syndications, AIF, and Client Solutions.
CEO Wang and MCDF staff met with senior management from the Africa Finance Corporation, which is both an MCDF IP and CC member as well. They included Mr. Osaruyi Orobosa-Ogbeide, Senior Vice President, Project Development & Investment, and Ms. Alice Usanase, Head of Country Relations and Equity Mobilization.
The MCDF delegation also met with heads of MCDF knowledge partners. They included the Trade and Development Bank’s (TDB) Group President and Managing Director, Mr. Admassu Tadesse, and Executive Director of Trade and Development Fund and TDB Group Executive, Ms. Mary Kamari, and Mr. Mohan Vivekanandan, Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA) Group Executive of Origination and Coverage and Group Executive Committee Member.
CEO Wang offered his thanks to the partners for their support for MCDF’s joint work to promote high-quality connectivity infrastructure in Africa and shared updates on MCDF’s project preparation, capacity building, and information sharing activities.
CEO Wang and meeting participants went on to discuss connectivity project and engagement priorities heading into 2025.
During AIF Market Days, Mr. Frederic Wiltmann, MCDF Program Head, also met with Mr. Bouabdellah Belhaj, International Financial Markets Head at Morocco’s Ministry of Finance. They discussed MCDF and opportunities to support connectivity infrastructure projects in the country.
