MCDF Secretariat Participates in Dushanbe International Investment Forum 2025

At the invitation of Tajikistan State Committee on Investment and State Property Management Chairman Sulton Rahimzoda to Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF) CEO Zhongjing Wang, the MCDF Secretariat participated in the Dushanbe International Investment Forum 2025 (Dushanbe Invest 2025) held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 14-16 October.

Mr. Ayumi Konishi, Senior Advisor to MCDF’s CEO, attended the forum, joining some 1,000 other forum participants from over 12 countries, including representatives of international organizations, multilateral development banks, and commercial banks, as well as developers and energy and logistics companies. They engaged in discussions under the forum theme Green Investments: Opportunities Today for a Sustainable Future, reflecting Tajikistan’s strategic focus on environmental responsibility and the transition to a digital economy.

Tajikistan’s Ministry of Finance invited MCDF to join the forum session entitled Green Investments and Sustainable Development: Climate Finance and Carbon Markets. Participants considered the country’s desire to leverage its hydropower potential as the construction of the Rogun Hydropower Project progresses, supported by MCDF partners such as the World Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Islamic Development Bank, and European Investment Bank. Coinciding with Tajikistan’s first international green bond launch, forum participants also looked at the development of its energy and transport connectivity with neighboring countries, toward Europe.

Mr. Konishi held bilateral meetings with Chairman Rahimzoda, Tajikistan First Deputy Finance Minister Yusuf Majidi, Mr. Dilshod Sharifi, Head of the Main Department of Public Debt and Public Investment Attraction, Tajikistan Finance Ministry, Mr. Ko Sakamoto, Asian Development Bank Tajikistan Country Director, Mr. Yerbol Bukharbayev, World Free Zones Organization Central Asia Regional Office Head, and other senior officials. They explored possible collaboration for promoting sustainable, high-quality cross-border connectivity investment.
